Adobe fails to open after selecting a document
Perform the Browser Setup steps to make sure you are allowing encrypted pages to be saved to disk and also to eliminate any temp files that may be interfering with the download. If this does not resolve the issue, make sure Adobe is installed and will launch.
Launch Acrobat Reader 5.X or Adobe Reader 6.0 by clicking on Start, Programs then Acrobat Reader 5.X or Adobe Reader 6.0.
If it fails to launch follow the instructions for Removing Adobe and then reinstall. If it does launch, but will not show documents, then check the File Associations.
To check File Associations left Click Start and then click Explore.
Click on Tools and then on Folder Options.
Click the File Type tab and then scroll down to the PDF in the Extensions column. Look in the Details window and make sure you see Opens with: Adobe Reader 6.0 or Acrobat Reader 5.X . If there is another application or no application identified you need to re-associate the file extension.
To do this click Change.
Click Adobe Reader 6.0 or Acrobat Reader 5.X and then click OK. Then click OK on the Folder Options page.
If Adobe Reader 6.0 or Acrobat Reader 5.X are not listed then you will need to install Adobe Reader from the Downloads and Links page.
